Please let me know your favourites!

These new songs use the same music as traditional hymns. For example, 'There is a green hill far away'. Or 'The Lord's my shepherd'. Or 'Amazing grace'. Or 'While shepherds watched their flocks by night'.

1 - from Psalm 1

God will bless you, if you refuse
To walk with evil men.
But if you trust in God's good words,
God will protect you, then.

If someone loves the word of God,
He reads it night and day.
He stands firm like a mighty tree
That cannot fall away.

The hopes of evil men will fail
As dust blows in a storm.
For their short lives will pass away
But good men will stand firm.

When God will come to judge the earth
The wicked will then fail.
But God knows those that trust in him
And he will save them all.

2 - from Psalm 23

Just like a farmer with a sheep,
My God will comfort me.
And in green fields beside the streams,
I walk in liberty.

But on the day when death seems near,
My God still comforts me.
I feel his hand which guides me home.
From evil, I am free.

He gives to me both food and drink:
A table for a king!
My cup is full. My heart is glad
And, with thanks, I will sing.

His love and kindness follow me
For each day that I live.
And when my days on earth have passed,
In heaven, I will live!

3 - from Psalm 19

The skies show us how great God is.
The stars teach us his wealth.
Day after day, they show his power
To people on the earth.

In every language people know
The works that God has done.
But we must teach his holy word
To tell them of his son.

Your word brings light to all our eyes
And life to every part.
Your word can make the simple, wise
And bring joy to our hearts.

So, may my words respect my God
And may my thoughts be right.
Oh God, you saved and rescued me.
I'll serve you day and night.

4 - from Psalm 24

God made the world and heaven too
And all things on the earth.
He made the people of all lands,
And each thing that has worth.

But we can only serve our God
If we respect his law.
We must do only what is right
And our hearts must be pure.

We all refuse to serve our God.
We follow evil ways.
And this is why God sent his son.
So, we trust him today.

Then, God will bless and give his love
To all, who follow him.
And we can stand before our God
To thank, and to praise him.

So, open wide the doors and gates!
And welcome now our king!
'Who is this king?' the people ask.
'This is our God', we sing.

5 - A Prayer for a Friend - from Psalm 20

We ask that God will answer you
Each time you pray to him.
We pray that God will give to you
His help and comfort, then.

We pray that God will send you help
And make your plans succeed.
We ask that God will give to you
Each thing that you may need.

When you succeed, we shall be glad.
We'll shout for joy and sing.
We will thank God for all his love.
Praise God for everything!

If we rely on our own strength,
Then we will fail and fall.
But if we trust in Jesus Christ,
He hears us when we call.

6 - from Psalm 34

Now, come and praise my God with me.
Together, we will pray.
We'll sing and praise and serve our God
Each night and then each day.

When I asked God, he answered me.
He saved me from my fear.
If you respect the name of God,
His angels will be near.

We know for sure that God is good.
He gives us what we need.
And, as we follow in his way,
Ahead, our God will lead.

God watches those who trust in him.
And he hears when they cry.
In troubles, God will rescue us.
We will live and not die!

When Jesus died upon the cross,
They did not break his bones.
And, as he rose again to life,
We do not stand alone!
